NHS Lothian is a strong platform for commercial research in neurodegenerative diseases. We have extensive experience of delivering academic and commercial trials in Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, dementia with Lewy bodies, progressive supranuclear palsy, Huntington’s disease, mild cognitive impairment and brain health. We support industry studies with experienced clinical investigators, research nurses, specialist clinical service and well-established infrastructure for complex interventional and observational trials, including biomarkers and the use of wearable devices. We also have access to diverse patient populations and engage actively with people living with neurodegenerative conditions, their families and healthcare professionals.
